Project Cargo

When Complexity Demands a Specialist. Heavy lift, ODC, breakbulk and multi-modal project cargo management — with single-point accountability across every leg, every agency, and every mile.

Service Overview

Engineering intelligence, not just extra freight capacity

Project cargo is not a scaled-up version of conventional freight. It is a specialist discipline requiring engineering intelligence, multi-agency coordination, and the operational tenacity that only experience delivers. EWFCPL's Project Cargo division has managed some of India's most complex industrial logistics movements — power plant turbines, refinery columns, bridge components, offshore equipment, and large-scale capital plant.

We serve as the single point of accountability across the entire logistics chain — managing every carrier, agency, permit authority, and sub-contractor on your behalf. You focus on the project. We focus on getting your cargo there safely, on time, and within budget.

Process Flow

How It Works

Every shipment moves through a structured, managed process — here is exactly what happens from the moment you engage EWFCPL.

  1. 01

    Project Scope Assessment

Client provides project details: equipment list, dimensions, weights, origins, destination, and project timeline. EWFCPL conducts a detailed logistics feasibility assessment.

  2. 02

    Multi-Modal Route Planning

EWFCPL designs the optimal multi-modal route — balancing transit time, cost, and risk. Port selection, ICD connectivity, inland route options, and mode combinations evaluated.

  3. 03

    Pre-Shipment Engineering & Survey

Route survey conducted for ODC cargo. Structural assessments for critical bridges and underpasses. Permit requirements identified. Lashing and securing plan developed for sea/road legs.

  4. 04

    Supplier & Vendor Coordination

EWFCPL acts as single window across all suppliers, sub-vendors, and shipping lines. Cargo from multiple locations consolidated at a nominated consolidation point.

  5. 05

Sea / Air / Road / Rail Transit Management

International freight leg managed: FCL, LCL, breakbulk, or charter as required. In-transit monitoring across all legs. Exception management and proactive client communication.

  6. 06

    Port Operations & Customs Clearance

Arrival at Indian port managed: stevedoring, crane hire, cargo survey, lashing removal. Customs clearance under appropriate notification (project import, EPCG, or DTA). All duties and levies managed.

  7. 07

    Inland Transportation to Project Site

ODC movement from port to project site under permit and police escort. Hydraulic trailers for very heavy lifts. Route clearance at each permit boundary confirmed in advance.

  8. 08

    On-Site Delivery & Handover

Cargo delivered to project site boundary. Unloading and placement co-ordinated with site team. Handover documentation and cargo condition survey completed. Project closure report issued.
